Flaps mud mustang are designed with two goals in mind: Protect your bike, and make your bike look better with them than it did without them. For these Mud Flaps it cuts from a single 3/16" thick (12 ounce) piece of Saddle Harness Leather, specially tanned and treated to withstand the most extreme weather conditions. The Thinnest piece of leather that mustang uses is more than twice as thick as the leather used by the majority of mustang's competitors. Like many Discoverys, flaps mud mustang came with only one rear mud flap, the other presumably lost against a kerb or verge somewhere. The factory mud flaps, with the moulded Discovery logo, are quite stiff and it seems that an impact fatigues the fixings so that they eventually fall off. They are also quite expensive to
replace - they are, of course, only available in pairs!
Another distinguishing feature of the flaps mud mustang is the width and length of each flap and the flap material itself. The flaps are
shipped extra long so you can cut them to the ride height of your truck if your truck has been lifted or rides lower when towing.
